True depends on the market!! I know they corrected the bolts that hold the side pins on the #6 gimbals. On the 8s there not located @ 12,6,9&3 Oclock. Have broken two in the same spot right were the 1/4" bolt is located at 3 O clock. 2 yrs *****ing and was told it shouldn't be a problem and I'm running to much HP. The new pattern is 10&2 and 8&4 wow wonder why.. :D

And don't get me started on how the baseline wankel could be improved with a few low cost aerospace materials that rotary experts have no idea about.

Believe me, if I had time and money, it already be out there. The weight savings will never beat a turbine though. One of our tubines is a tad over 500 lbs, but belts out 2500 hp continous...also cost cool mill each to (GE CT7-8a). Rotaries offer lower cost though even with top of the line internals. One day....if someone does not get there first. Dunno if you guys saw the triple rotor (20b Mazda) with a freaking huge turbo on it. It is on YouTube...900hp, single engine pushing a boat to 140 mph with a bravo xr. The bravo lives because it is screaming at 9000 rpm.

That is a profoundly retarded statement.

Precisely. 900 hp @ 9000 rpm equates to 525 ft-lbs of torque (5252/9000)x900 = 525.2 ft-lbs. Hi torque is the short term killer of drives...heat build-up is the long term killer of drives. I never understood why drives are not given a torque rating at some rpm limitation due to internal balance and heat rejection saturation.
Come on now, that was not "too" profoundly retarded. Besides, someone already has the setup running successfully! :lolhit: |
You tube video...rotary whooping on a twin bbc cig.
