I'm more interested in overall fuel mileage gains towing & daily driving than I am power or acceleration. What kind of mileage are you seeing?
With regard to warrantys I'm in pretty good shape since my employer owns many GM Dealerships. No plans to go haywire but I should be able to cover minor out of bounds under warranty.

Just towed the 32 Skater to Sarasota and back with my new GMC 2500HD Duramax and only got around 9 mpg. My 05 Chevy easily would have had around 14-15. This new emissions equipment has to be the difference, but I'm scared to mess with it. My 05 had the Banks system, exhaust, intake work, etc. and half the time ended up detuning itself and became a royal PITA. I vividly remember trying to merge onto I-95 in CT rush hour (without the boat), and suddenly having the truck shut down to about 45mph as I tried to merge with 80mph traffic....here was my new (at the time) $50,000 truck with 4,000 miles....$hitting the bed.....
