I have an Edge Evolution CTI with a turbo back exhaust off an earlier model truck... thus removing the smog stuff.
My milage went up from an average of 13.6mpg to 18.3 mpg.
The Evolution series of tuners are made here in the US as opposed to the older Edge tuners for GM that were made in China.
Absolutely love this product.

I have an 07 2500 Z71 the truck gets 16 to 17 mpg with nothing more than a K&N filter added. The fuel consumption did improve after the first fuel filter change. Had two other dmax with Edege and had problems with both of them related to the programmer.
One upgrade that I did was a larger fuel tank 38gal made by transfer flo don't have to fill up every 3 1/2 days. The tank bolts under the truck in place of the small tank.

I have a 05 Duramax with Banks 6 gun, turbo back exhaust, intake, and a few other minor things. Have 70K on all the parts with no problems at all. I can say Banks has great tech support . The Banks exhaust is only 3DB louder than stock while cruising. Give them a call and they will tell you anything you want to know. I tow in level 3 and it makes a HUGE power difference over stock. I average 18.5 MPG highway empty and 14.5 highway towing a 9K LB boat. Keep in mind my truck is only a 5 speed Allison and yours is a 6 speed. If you want the most speed/power, I would go with a PPE tuner. Jeff Wurl

I recently traded my gas 6.0L Chevy 2500HD for a 2008 6.6L diesel GMC 2500HD and was wondering if anyone on the boards has experimented w/ any of the available software upgrades. I'm less interested in obtaining MAX HP & more interested in increasing the fuel mileage as well. This vehicle is basically a daily driver for me so I'm talking about increasing non towing fuel mileage. Any additional benefits I might yield while towing will only be a bonus.
With all the different tuners and their claims out (Hypertech, Superchips etc) tough to tell whose really work.
I'm ok w/ installing a cold air box but would rather stay away from an exhaust system if possible.
Please share your experiences good or bad!!

I'm currently have a 08 gmc 3500 dually, and when i purchased it , the only available tuner was the superchips cortex. I ran it alongside the guy i sold my 06 gmc 3500 dually with a juice with attitude tuner and an MBRP exhaust, and the 08 walked the dog on the o6.

Stainless it appears you own a vehicle that is very similar to mine (not to mention a boat too). Many of the others who have enjoyed some increased performance are pre 2007 emissions which isn't a direct correlation for me. Did you make any other mods to your truck (DPF, exhaust, air box etc)?
Has the tuner modification caused any warning lights to come on or resulted in any error codes?? What kind of mileage to you see towing vs non towing?
Thanks,
Michael

08 srw 4x4 2500 quad cab,dpf exhaust is now in storage in my barn, quadzilla tuner w/dpf delete. Stay away from running too much power when towing if you want to avoid damaging the stock drive train,Smitty

I have a 08 GMC and from what I've read the EFI live is the way to go. Talked to a shop in St. Joe and they will do the exhaust, EFI and cold air box for around $1,800.00 thinking about doing it, but not sure I'm ready to void my warranty as the truck only has 11k on it.
