290 enticer prop question
Looking to buy a 1993 Powerquest Enticer 290. It has the twin 502's EFI. The owner tells me that the boat runs around 55-60 mph. The boat has 21 pitch 3 blade props on it. This didn't sound right to me. Does anyone know if this is correct? Just hoping this is a prop issue and not something mechanical. Thanks for any advice!!!

Boat should run 75ish. Something is way off.
|
do you know the proper prop size?
|
back then they used to leave the factory with 23s some had better results with 25s,heavy boat, low 70s
|
I'd say that very low 70 would be about it !!! As I have a '94 290. It also depends on how it is loaded, tuned, etc........p.s.-Don't ever trust any speedo but GPS Have the right info before changing anything!

I had a 93 290 with 502 mag efis. It had 23 mirage 3 blades. Ran 5000 rpm. I never used a gps on the boat. Speedo went to 75 and would bury it with 2 people or 8 people on the boat, full tank or fuel or half. It was bone stock. It was faster than the people that claimed to do 80 but you know how the bench racing goes. It was probably a true 75mph boat. I would think you should see 70 even if it is a little tired.

yeah, I am just assuming that the boat is hitting the rev limiter way to early with the 21's....a set of 25's is what I am going to try when I run it....then if it doesn't change, I know the boat has a problem

I have a 1992 in stock with 23P on it and the boat runs 70-73. It is real clean and freshwater only. Let me know if you would like more info on it. I think it is priced right @ 23,900.including a trailer.

I am trading my 2004 Z06 for this boat...I guess we will end up making a trade, depending on if the problem with top speed is the pitch of the props. If it ends up not being the case, I will contact you.

I would look at the ZO6 also on trade. Let me know.
Thanks. |
