Member #72 here. Was here long before the Oct. 2000 date. I may be way off here... but I think around late 96 early 97 the first board was created by I think Jeff Cheng. It was more like a blog then, you did'nt even have to register to post. Was'nt it around early 99 it actually started to have a format similiar to today?
Does anyone remember around early 99 when the forums were turned off for a few days to get things to calm down. Because of the almighty "Fast Mike" (I think that is who it was) he had a all black fountain, started talking some major BS and started a war. A bunch of us called him out and tried to get him to the 2000 Shootout. I think he showed up but never ran in the shootout.
How about the...Llama races
A few of us from Grand Rapids used to have OSO meet and greet parties at Hooters on 28th street in Grand Rapids, MI. The original board owner would send shirts, stickers, and other goodies to give a way.
The good ole days!

The former owner shut the board down one year during KW when all hel broke loose.
He said it didn't matter cause everyone that he cared about on the board was already in KW. LOL

It's gotta be really cool for him today even after selling it, that he has effected so many powerboater's lives...
Just recall all of the good things that came from this Forum.
I am sure the good out number the bad...
The fundraisers and all the well wishes when people weren't doing well.
This certainly became a huge family over the years.
