Unfortunately he ends up placing them all in harms way by having a largely non-professional crew running a rouge ship around the southern ocean in frigid waters and rough seas in a ship they wouldn’t be allowed to sail from US waters.

Interfering with another ships operational safety with tactics like prop fowling, throwing butyric acid on the decks and placing a vassal deliberately in the path of another maneuvering vassal is idiotic.

The actions of the Sea Shepherd are morally reprehensible and unconscionable. They call themselves a “conservation society” but based on their behavior they are the same as Balloon Boys parents and are nothing more than sensationalist amoral buffoons.

Captain Paul Watson should now be re-named Captain Kangaroo or Captain Crunch. Clearly he has been consulting his friend Captain Morgan far too often….
LOL good post

The Bob Barker is a different ship. This one was supposedly at least partially bought by a media/cable guy named Ady Gil. They named it after him.

I can't believe the sh!% that is being dribbled out on this particular thread. Sounds like a bunch of gun totin' red necks here!! You guys don't seem to realise the Japs come down into our waters & harpoon the hell out of the whale population. Oh & I forgot to mention it's all in the name of science...just on a side note it also props up the dining tables of Tokyo's finest restaurants. These guys are the only ones who have the guts to get out there & do something about it! I say full kudos to them because our Government doesn't want to do anyhing about it....seems something to do with upsetting the balance of trade our country has with Japan. Good on them, where can I sign up!!

There is a clear lack of respect for the lives of the Merchant Marines that are working below decks on those ships. This practice is well discussed in Maritime Academy, it's called piracy! You NEVER put another person’s life at risk; the sea is dangerous enough on her own.

I cannot stand the practice of whaling but this is not the righteous path. They will end up sinking a ship, killing crew and ultimately cause an environmental catastrophe in the southern ocean when you get bunker oil spreading across the ocean from a sinking ship.

And FYI; if you want to call everyone "gun totin' rednecks" I'm ok with that label. Have red neck - will travel. But you may want to refrain from calling Japanese people "Japs"; it makes you sound like a redneck.

Your hearth is in the good place but these idiots want publicity and your donations.

If whaling worldwide stopped tomorrow they would be hanging from cooling towers on nuclear plants or some other useless acts to sucker you into giving them money.

I think whaling sucks also but these guys are not in it for the whales, your missing the point and are suckered in by there bleeding heart crap.

Nobody here is advocating whaling or belittling the goal of stopping it. The truth is, by backing these "green commandos", you would be signing up to join "Activists". To me the definition of an activist in today's society is someone who finds a problem and tries to use it to create publicity, a left wing power base, and a cash flow....while in no way solving the actual problem. This is the basis for everything from Planned Parenthood to Al Qaeda and IMHO the politics and principles are very similar in all of them. The idea is a big power grab, appeal to the ignorance, fears or sympathy of the populace, pretend you're Robin Hood, and fuel it by stealing (either from tax increases, "donations", or outright theft) from the millions of people who simply want to work hard, raise their families, and have a couple of bucks left over to enjoy here and there.

We have a government in the US currently which is the logical product of this "activism", a bunch of power mad, corrupt, socialist/communists, who grew up in the "revolutionary 60's and 70's" and think that scum like Che Guevara (the genius who gave us airplane hijacking as a political "statement") should be idolized and put on tee shirts for ignorant college students to wear proudly.

You are in Australia, which seems to be a more conservative environment. You should kiss the ground for that conservatism and, if you insist on signing up for anything, enlist yourself in a grass roots movement to stop One World Marxism.....the media backed cancer that threatens all of us. If we all had strong common sense based governments, then problems like Japanese whaling, Chinese fish poaching, illegal immigration, Venezuelan dictators, and wacky Muslim suicide/murder groups could all be dealt with quickly and logically.

Nuff said......

G'day mate.

seems most with any kind of power in the world today are more concerned with what the "appear" to do then what they actually do.

And what the Duck is wrong with gun totin!!! Our men have been saving the worlds problems and freeing man kind since WW1 with our red neck blood.. We have given freedom to more countries than all other countries combined and rebuild when were done.So before you knock anyone in the USA let me know how many aussies have died in the last 100yrs fighting for someone elses freedom. Your country does nothing to Japan because they can't plain and simple.
