Props???
 

I'm looking for a pair of 17 1/2 merc 5 blade, lab finished 34 or 35 pitch props. I don't want to spend the money to buy them new from merc ($4000.). Anyone have anyone know of somone that might want to sell a pair?? Thanks Otto

call Dave @ MDG Performance 410-956-5381. He is a Spectre dealer. He just took delivery of his own boat from Spectre. Jay @ Spectre claimed it was the fastest boat that ever left the factory. Faster than the owners boat with Keith E. 675's. The MDG performance motors, 540ci, 640hp carberated motors pushed the 36' canopied Spectre to 130mph. It was pretty cool to see the GPS tatletale spedometer read 130.

I spoke w/ jay as well. 130mph on lake tarpon (fresh water) That puppy rocks!! add 2-3 for salt. I'd like to know more about those MDG motors (whats inside, price). Anyone know anything?

Not even close to the fastest to leave the factory. Last year we ran 163 on GPS. Twin 1000's Bandit engines, 1:35 gears in MercVI dry sumps, 17 1/2, 35 pitch,4 blade lab props at 7000 RPM's. This winter we built a pair of 1500 HP Bandits that are going in the boat this week. That's the purpose of the post for props 17 1/2 35 5 blade labs. Boat has great handling , tremendous acceleration and no bad habits (other than spending alot of time at the gas dock).

36 Spectre - I was told that it was the fastest boat that Jay had put together, tested and dialed in. Perhaps your motors were added after jay's involvement had ended. If I am mistaken and / or misinformed, then I send you my sincere apologies ! 163 is smokin, no matter who did it.

Maximus - Dave Govatos, of MDG Performance ( the owner ) built the motors. he is running them thtrough a standard XR drive. It is an economical package. He produces the 540's with a warranty and has had great success and longevity with the same package in recently completed Powerplays, Black Thunder, older style Cigarette Top Guns etc. For pricing and or components you need to call him direct. 410-956-5381
