Ballistic use was Kevlar 29 , then they had Spectra but it had a heat problem, I had some Ballistic foam once upon a time that I was playing around with at 2" in cross section problem is you have to give up a little space for this the Kevlar Helicopter Armor was layered and had a pretty fair thickness.
