Polishing Galvanized trailer wheels

Just got my wheels and I did some polishing and they look much better. Kind of like bumpy chrome. Has anyone done this and if so how long will it stay shiny?

I don't know how HEALTHEY it is to be polishing, (Releasing the Zinc, and making it airborne) Galvinized anything? Hope you wore a respirator. Sorry, it's just the tree-hugger in me coming to the surface!

I wouldn't polish them too much. My dumbass neighbor thought the chainlink fence between us looked alittle dull. So he went and sanded it when I was out of town. Yes, retirees sometimes have way too much time on their hands too. In two months it rusted. He could never figure out why. Until I told him he removed the galvanizing. Its there to protect and scarifice itself so the steel doesn't rust.

Yes...way too much time on my hands. Got a smokin deal on the wheels. I didnt rub em much. Just a little mothers metal polish and they shined right up. Anyway, it was easier than that asbestos I polished last week :p

It will all clear up if in you eat some lead paint chips:rolleyes:

Asbestos can be rendered harmless if it is wetted down with PCG oil.

What do I like bestess? I like asbestos.
