Thanks for all the info. We, the APBC, will be at the springs on Friday May 10th and again on Sunday May 12th. At present we have 23 boats coming down. Saturday May 11th we are hoping to run to Jacksonville, weather permitting. However, if the weather is not great we will be at the springs on Saturday too. We are staying in Palatka at the Holiday Inn. If anyone has any questions please give me a call at 770-974-2551. Looking forward to meeting some of you on the run.

Gatorone, Be sure and stop by. I'm sure we'll be the only large group of boats with georgia registration numbers...can't miss us.

Updating an old thread.......2008.

I went yesterday and I couldn't believe how SHALLOW it was even before you enter the springs! Like 2-3 feet! Is the lake that low now? I went in with my boat 38 Scarab and was skimming mud, sand and weeds...saw a Baja guy who had his drives all plugged up...I ended up going back out in the lake.

The level seemed much lower than the few weeks before...? Anyone else been there recently?

ZBODaytona 05-12-2008 09:39 AM

Since we really haven't had much rain i am sure it is really low right now. If we get some rain, the level will come up and be easier to get in there. I still wonder how those big boats make it inside. Also there is a channel...not much of one, but it is there.

With the wind blowing out of the west it blows the water out of the river and screws up the water level

JetJock 05-12-2008 12:46 PM

Wind--DUH!

You would think an Airline Pilot would have fiqured that one out!

The water was low and the wind was probably 25-30 Knots out of the WEST and I'll bet that made a difference. I am going to check my impellers to make sure I did't screw them up dragging through the mud.

I did see a few GO FAST types around..anyone on the forum go yesterday? (Mothers Day)

--I was out anchored by the NO WAKE marker and I could stand in WAIST deep water--it looked deep--but no way!

Hopefully the water level will increase because I wanted to do an overnight in the springs sometime soon.
