Swim Platform

Looking to have a tubular swim platform built. Any suggestions where to buy it from?

Griff 01-16-2010 02:18 AM

That may depend on where you are located and if it needs to be custom made.

here is a few other pics..sorry I wasnt any help on the make..try calling NorTech.. or PM Terry Sobo..Salesmanship on the board. Here are a few other pics that you might not have. Note: have swim platform lower than rub rail..easy to get on using the trim tab on the side as a step getting on to the metal platform. NorTech did a great job on getting the paint to work for me.. and cause we raft up so much I had them add a remote and some additional plug in speakers in which they made the fiberglass shape to match the boat..Heck, they even made a rubber piece to go on the bottom as to not scratch the paint, as well as a bowling bag for storage in the boat.. Worked great and you didnt have to crank the volume up super high to hear the tunes when in the water...good luck. Jeff

What seems to be the going rate for these things? I've seen them for around $1,500, but that's a little more than I would want to spend on one. Does anyone make them cheaper? (I don't think mine would need to be a custom made platform. I don't have anything in the way and it's a pretty standard 8'6" beam).

A new tubular swim platform will run $1500-2500. Keep your eyes on the classifieds and on ebay for used. They will go for about half that.

I think I'd be willing to pay $750... I just can't justify spending $1,500 on a swim platform for a $16K boat... I'd rather do something that makes sense like get rid of it and spend $40k on a boat that doesn't really do anything more than mine!

Ummmm, yea, you wont find a new tube platform for 750. I sold my used platform for 1500. They aint cheap!

Might as well add this company to the Swimplatform thread to keep it going for others looking for a new Swimplatform. They are in AZ, But they are custom made fiberglass style platforms it looks like.

That'd be cool... reduce the weight, go faster!...

I actually know someone that will make one locally for $750, but I'm not sure of the bending process... He doesn't have a mandrel bender for the outside tube, he has access to a metal bending process (I should know the name of the metal because I use to work with it) that melts at a very low temp, it fills up the tube, solidifies, and helps keep it from kinking (but it still kinks occasionally...)...

AO31 02-18-2010 10:48 PM

Bye the way, I also want one but am on the fence about spending the coin and adding weight to an already ass heavy small cat.
