Default 1450's in a 36 spectre

I'm thinking of buying a 36 spectre and putting tcm 1450 quad rotor engines in it. can the boat handle that or is that to much? do people put #6 on spectres i haven't seen any.

Otto Fisher "Whiplash" of NY had a MEGA HP 36' Spectre with 6's, don't know the top speeds though.

Skater is more proven in that hp/drive set up...may be something worth looking into, some good deals out there now...

I had 1150's in my 35 Motion. It ran 154 which was fast enough for that boat. The Spectre has a wider tunnel. Not sure what the Specte would be like with that power. I have 1550 quad rotors now and couldn't imagin them in a 35!!!! I would think it would be overkill but I am a firm believer in overkill!!!

The 36 spectre doesn't really like #6's. If you have to have those drives you will need to have the notches filled for the boat to run right. That boat with 750s to 850s is plenty of power for the speed potential of the hull. If I remember correctly we build one with a pair of 850 sterlings and B-max drives that ran 135 mph with plenty of throttle left.
