Just a recommendation, but you're probably better off paying someone that actually does this for a living and has liability insurance. It's nice to save a couple of hundred dollars here and there, but if the boat weighs 11k pounds it probably wasn't cheap. I'd make sure the guy doing the pulling had insurance to cover anything that happened in transit. |

I agree it should be only be pulled by a professional. I would not trust an expensive boat to a stranger or friend of a friend trying to a get a cheap rate. Insurance and liability are a couple of minor issues....

If you want a comparison, my Step dad had a 42' Eagle hauled from FL to MI and it cost him around $1,100. He did not have a trailer and they used a hydrolic trailer to haul it, but I'm not sure how much difference that makes.

Most of them charge..
$1.50- $1.75 a mile...do the math... Joe |
Advanced Boat Haulers
951-579-0186 Be careful getting just any service. Make sure they have "enough" cargo coverage..... Many haulers out there have the cargo coverage but it is not adequate. If the rig is worth more than what the hauler carries....you're leaving yourself personally exposed. Also - remember the majority of all boat insurance policies (not talking about cargo coverage from the transporter) has a clause in their policy. If the boat is being transported "for hire" then the responsability is transferred to the transport company. Meaning.... you hire someone to haul your boat and it disappears or is damaged in a accident...your personal policy won't cover a thing. Hence the need to make sure the transport company has adequate insurance. Get a certificate of insurance issued in your name. You will see all the coverages and dates of coverage. Anyone who can't provide this.... I would be worried. Guys charging a $1.00 a mile or less....most likely don't have the correct coverage.... or they are bare bones....not making a penny of profit. |
call tommy he goes up that way all time.he's in the transport biz.954-394-0252 tommy
