Default Why go out in the ocean in January?

Well it sounded like a good idea at the time.
Look at how rough it was and all the stuff in the water.

I don't think I have ever seen that many at one time. I was coming back from Catalina one day in very rough seas. About half way back I came across a school of tuna boiling the water. It was very majestic and calming until I thought about what was chasing them.

Very Cool.... I was just out there a few weeks ago in Laguna Beach for the Holidays, we saw the Dolphins just about every morning when we were on the beach, not that many of them though!!!
Very cool video thanks for sharing....

Super cool. Great to have a video for times like that. I've tried taking dolphin pics with a still camera, and it's a real PITA.

So cool! thanks for posting that.

I experienced that exact same thing back in 2000. We were coming back from Catalina, it was right at sundown, and suddenly we are surrounded by thousands of dolphins- as far as you could see in every direction. The angle of the setting sun made them look like silver flashes as they jumped. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I was driving boat and couldn't get my hands on a camera.

Years ago had a 32' boat in Ventura Harbor. We used to like going to the other side of Anacapa and feed the baby sea lions. They'd swim out to us and the parents on land would be loudly protesting.

Look for swarms of birds - head for the birds. The dolphins are usually there with them.

One time, we experimented. We slowed down, they slowed down. We sped up, the sped up. Really really cool.
