Inconel valve choices...??
 

It's about the time for me to order valves, I need Inconel, even though some say i do not, I am buying inconel anyway...

Is there any valves more cost effective them Manley?

I have approx 450HP and think maybe another brand will do the job??

Anyone use the Ferrea or Rev?

Any other brands to look at?

Looks like Manleys are 329.99, just looking to see if I can save a few bucks and still get Inconel...

When JimV did my heads he had me get Manley on the intakes and Ferrea on the Exhaust. You are only getting inconel on the exhausts right?

i would go with the manleys, they are a little more money but i think they are better, inconel is a heavy mostly nickel and chromiun with niobium added metal,some companys make only the valve head and a small part of the stem with inconel and they friction weld the valve stem[stainless]to the rest of the valve to save on weight. a valve made out of only inconel is really heavy,

I don't see why that would be. We use to make the brackets for GE turbine motors out of inconel. They seemed pretty light to me. As light if not lighter than stainless steel.

I would tend to think that companies do this to save on money and machining than anything (rather than weight). I know that we use to use a tap per hole, that is, one new tap for every hole that we had to tap, on these stupid brackets. The material is TOUGH to work with. I guess that's why the brackets cost around $1,200 each...

The super alloy valves are inconel

I like the ferria and have run them for 5 yrs on the exhaust. I was pushing the limits on my boost last fall and ended up melting 5 pistons in one engine and tuliping 2 severe duty intake valves. The exhaust valves were all fine. They are a very beefy valve and hold up great to excess heat and water quenching from slight reversion..

I have one set of NEW IN THE BOX Ferrea Valves Intake and exhaust. The intake are part # F6131 6000 series 11/32 +.250 5.471 2.300. Exhaust # F1270P super alloy 11/32 5.450 1.900. $350.00 Plus shipping. I got these for a set of dart heads and never used them.

what part #'s are you looking for? intake stem and head size? exhaust stem and head size?

you want inconel on the exhaust and a severe duty style for the intake?
