Well the one issue that I have (not sure if anyone else does or not) is that I dont splash in the ocean
There is not enough emphasis on the DE river from your orgainization. There is only one run hosted by NJPPC per year in the river correct?
If I was down the shore somewhere I could totally see doing it and signing up but I never go to Jersey.
Only other place besides DE river is OCMD and that is only for a week. Going to hang out with Will (HotDuck) for a few days during my one week vacation.

Dave, are there plans to do more in the DE river?
Gatherings, Poker runs, day trips, events, Tulleytown weekends?
I have not been on DE river in a long time but last I knew there were public docks at Dave and busters, Rock Lobster.
4th of July under the BF bridge is a great time and then most people head north to Tulley town for an over night trip.

I dont see the NJPPC doing, orgainizing or involved in any of this other than one poker run (which was stifled from the Sept 11th event last year which I understand)

But if there is only one event, is it worth it to us PA guys that splash in the river all year?

This is why im on the fence about it all. I go to your website all the time, I always am looking at the boats, event pics ect you have but they are mostly down the shore which is fine. But I dont get there at all and surely dont know my way around and is too far and a big PITA to get down the ACE and the wonderful 400 times the normal amount in tolls to get there. :) Gotta love Jersey! (that can be overcome though)

I am in now way bashing your Org, nor am I putting it down, but I just have a hard time justifying being part of an org that Ill be at one event per year.

Make sense?
Jason

:D

Hey Jay,

I appreciate your feedback, but I think that you may have missed the original message that was posted.

In the original message, I stated:
"The purpose of the meeting is as follows:
* To help NJPPC Members in the Philadelphia/Delaware area meet each other as well as try to build critical mass for fun runs. (All NJPPC members are invited!)

* Review our final plans for the 2002 NJPPC Philadelphia Poker Run

* Find a few NJPPC members from the area who would like to "take the lead" in helping organize fun runs throughout the summer."

Last year was our first year hosting an event on the Delaware and we met alot of great folks. This year we made one of our initiatives to focus on developing the Delaware area for our current and new members who do their boating in that area.

As for joining for 1 event? We have members covering 10 states (some as far away as California & Seattle) who will be attending some of our events.

Feel free to solicit feedback from NJPPC members on this board and on the njppc.com website to see if a $35.00 or $60.00 investment is worth it. I think you will find that we provide some of the best value for a performance powerboater's dollar.

Jay,

If you enjoy being a participant in even One well-run Poker Run and likewise enjoy meeting many new performance boaters face to face, then I think most people believe that the NJPPC membership fee is well worth it! I've personally found that the friendships made through the club even out-shine the first-rate events!

I fully recognize the above is my NJPPC biased opinion and in no way applies to everyone! Hope that you have a great summer on the Delaware.

Join NJPPC!

Jay,

I live on Lake George in upstate, NY and make a only one or two "official" NJPPC events per year. However, I have still been a FULL member for 3 years and have made some tremendous friends! You WILL NOT find a NICER group of people ANYWHERE! Join the club...you WILL NOT be disappointed.
