I assume top 2 engine manufacurers are mercury and Illmor?? I see what your saying about the temporary mold but in reality it is wasted money. for the same price as a temporary mold you could probably build a one off boat. If you don't mind me asking how much for a cnc mold for a 40' boat??? How much to do a plug and mold.

I think its a smart move not to let a great deck go to waste. Build a new hull.

So checkmate is going to cut down a deck mold from 40' to 36' this what you are implying? Can't they just build a new deck mold?

FROM CHECKMATE this boat in question is a 36' Pantera. Ducky's Boats bought a bare hull and deck from Pantera (don't know details behind that) and bought it here for us to finish. Adam of Saccenti Marine ( renting space here ) actually did the installl of motors, drives, etc. XT Inovations did the interior and we are installing interior,gauges, cabin, etc. Kustom Kolors( another local co) ....is even painting it i believe. Now you know the rest of the story.....that's it.... nothing more to it. I can't explain why Tom is calling it a Checkmate .....sure we will be asking that very soon. Great boat rigged here......but it's NOT a Checkmate. Just to end some of this other speculation out there...we are not in the process of building any new model bigger than the ZT 350 at the present time. |
Why does "most" everybody here have to see such doom and gloom and try to throw anyone possible under the bus on speculation? Give them a little breathing room and let's see where they go - we should all be glad that there is still new business development going on. And by the way, some boat dealers are reporting record sales this year!
