Go Pro Video - Running thru the Florida Keys
 

After spending Superbowl weekend in Key West with friends we had to boogie out of there Monday morning to catch our flights out of Ft Lauderdale. Once on the water we were able to cruise at 65+MPH. We ran both the Hawk Channel and thru the Upper Keys making it to Haulover Inlet in 2 hrs and 48 min, my best time ever. I was even able to add music to the clips !! LOL Enjoy the 3 short video's.

#1 was nice...cant get #2 to play for me and #3 reverts to a video I put in just a few weeks back of my best buds boat as we were getting it ready to put it to sleep for the winter. Maybe my stuff is messed up or something.

Looks like they've blocked the second one....and the 3rd one comes up as my channel for some reason!

Oh yeah, this is great! 1 and 2 worked for me. These Go Pro cameras are the hottest thing to come along in a while. Great vids, can't wait to see more. Thx, Bob!

Bob, can you tell me which GoPro you are using for that footage? Specifically, I'm curious of the resolution and angle of view.

I just picked up a ContourHD and I'm curious how they compare.

My camera is the wide angle "Hero" model. I understand in the few months since I ordered this camera they have now come out with a HD Hero. I'm happy enough with the quality that I may not upgrade for a while yet. Maybe a second one for rear view would be nice. We will see.
Note sure of the specs re resolution etc. Probably can be found on their website.

Nice driving man....looked like a blast, thanks for posting the vids. U really have to know your way around down there or you can end up in trouble fast....

Great videos. Just wondering how deep the water is running through those channels?

Most of that water is no more than 8ft which is twice the depth we have around the Islands around Marco. If you get out of the channel and into brown water you're in trouble.

It wasn't marked, so we aren't coming off plane!! PETA or no PETA. LOL

Very true and many do end up in trouble. Sea Tow and Boat US do very well in the Keys.

Song is "From Paris to Berlin". I will check the artist name and edit this post later. When I initially posted a song that had copywrite issues they allow you to go back in and edit your music selection. They have a selection of songs that you can choose from, most of which are just crap. This song had a bit of a beat to it and was about the best of the lot.

Bob, You're the man! Amazing how steady the video is, guess that's what 50' of bad azz hull can do for you. Third one won't come up for me either.

Do you realize that with a couple hundred dollar camera and a few minutes of your time you may single handedly cure cabin fever for an untold number of middle aged perf boat freaks. Keep up the good work, our sanity is in your hands.

BVI Poker Run is May 30, 2010. Looks to be good fun. I hear ESPN has committed a crew to cover it if we can come up with enough skimpy bikinis-which is never a problem. :drink:
