Default Does this motor look like a mag 385hp

Here is a link to a boat on ebay that looks like a good deal, I just think that the motor is not what it is advertised as. The lower unit looks like it has been hot as well. Can anyone give me there 2 cents.

THat motor only puts out about 300 to 310 H/P The outdrive looks fine just a little white haze on it from the water

Looks like a 7.4 310 hp model to me. Never knew the Mags to not say Mag on them.

My 385 mags were EFI in my old 2000 baja. My 310 in my 97 was Throttle body like this one looks like.

That was my feeling as well. I had the same year and it had a sticker saying it as well. You dont think the water spots a sign of a hot lower unit

That motor is NOT a 365 hp mag motor.

All outdrives will look chalky like that if not cleaned often and run in water with a high mineral content.

Spray some diluted Tidy-bowl on it and the chalky stuff will wash right off. It is mineral deposits. And if you buy the boat, put a drive shower on it.

Post the Serial # and I'll tell you. Unless he has done some internal upgrades this should tell the story.
