Things must be picking up

When i had the Formula i never even got a scammer wanting it, i listed the Hydrohoist for sale and it only took a week to get one. but you would think that they would at least notice that it wasn't a boat for sale

Greetings

How are you today? Hope you are great. My client and I are based in
England. My client informed me that the boat would be shipped to his
daughter who resides in Canada. He is buying it to present as a
wedding gift to his daughter and son in-law whom he missed their
wedding ceremony because of his health condition.

I am very happy to tell you that we have concluded with our client and
he has instructed me to carry on with the transaction. He said that I
should inform you that the payment will get to you in a cashier check
of ($17,000) which is a refund payment of a cancelled order earlier
made by my client.
Due to company policy, this check has to be made out in this amount
($17,000) to you, because company policy only allows a refund payment
on one cashier check, so you are required to deduct cost of your boat
($7,500] when the payment gets to you and refund balance [$9,500] to
my customer's Agent, for the agent to be able to offset all shipping
and handling bills, clear off taxes and offset all related cost for
the Boat pickup.

After payment has reached you and balance sent back to his agent - the
agent would contact the PICKUP AGENT-who will come for the pick up of
the Boat to be shipped to my client. My client is making necessary
arrangement with some of the agent(s) and will provide me with the
pickup/test driver agent information as soon as he decides whom to use
as an Agent for the pickup of the Boat.

Please confirm this whole arrangement and provide the details below
for check payment to be delivered to you.

PAYMENT INFORMATION:

1. LEGAL NAME IN FULL.........

2. MAIL ADDRESS..........

3. PHONE NUMBER (S).................

I got involved in one of these back about 3 years ago... Guy didn't know I was a computer tech... Traced his computer back and it was an empty Apartment in California. He is now in prison for Internet fraud. Offered to buy my mustang for a premium price. The price was 15k. Told me he would send me a check for 20k and I could put the rest in the car to be shipped back. It just sounds fishy to me. Hope this helps.

If you're saying, 'respond to the email', then this is Very Wrong. You should Never respond to a suspected spammer/scammer/hacker, etc. I work in Security Governance for a Corporation.

If I sent you an email, and you responded, I could get your password and then harvest your inbox, address book, everything. Emails from Yahoo or Gmail are simple. Major US Corporation private email is far more difficult, but also more valuable.

Never, ever respond to a suspected spammer/scammer/hacker.

Boy i'm really on a roll now, got another one, I wonder how many cashiers check i could get on this :)

ello,
Thank you for your response, after discussing with my client concerning your reply to our inquiry on your boat’s condition, he is satisfied with the details of your response and the boat's condition update from the Boattraderonline ad..
To that effect he has commended your boat and has agreed to carry on the transaction at the price of $7,500 ,he said he will be going on a vacation soon and will rest virtually all the transaction on my shoulder and assign a shipper like wise that i will work with, he further stressed that he will be issuing out a cashier check of ($13,900) which was an earlier cancelled order made by him, this amount is expected to cover both the shipping and any other expenses that might accrue in the course of this transaction, so you are required to deduct the cost of your boat which is( $7,500) and then refund balance which is ($6,400) to my clients pickup agent and shipper after payment gets to you to enable him come for inspection /pick-up, transfer of title paper and other tax charges,
Confirm arrangement and send me your NAME,ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER for check payment to be delivered to you via fedex courier services .All other information needed in completion of this transaction will be given to you in due time.
Sincerely,
Matthew Waga

I know a guy who sent 4K to that Nigerian prince email thingy thinking he was gonna get 400K back. He is desperate and thought he hit the lotto. I think people do crazy things when backed into a corner.

from what I hear, scams are supposed to be doing good business unfortunately.

I think you should see how many bad checks you can collect.

got this type of response when i was selling one of my commercial boats. I knew it was bogus as soon as i read the letter, but broker thought it was good. i told the broker ok do what you want, but you wont get the boat until i get paid full in cash...sent a check that was phony. broker looked confused. told broker to file a police report as he was getting calls at all hours. turned out the scam was in philadelphia pa and the guy was from england and in pa trying to scam sales people that had local ads
be careful some arent as savy

MrOffshore 02-21-2010 10:19 AM

A few things...you should feel lucky to have such a serious buyer so quickly (kidding of course).

I hate...and that's a strong word...but it's true, I hate people who try to take advantage of people like this. Please post his e-mail to me and I will make him wish he's never contacted you...at a very miminum he won't be able to use that account again. I have methods of upsetting people when I run across this type of low caliber person.
