poof !

love it when someone comes on OSO, asks for advice and then closes the thread when they don't like what they hear...

And in all if he does get screwed some other on the board will be cause he's a puss and wouldnt say anything. Now everyone has to double think who they buy from. I dont believe that should be the OSO way.

At the very least someone should come out and tone the thing down, or do some explaining. Heck, if I were the Seller at this point I would have outted myself and explained what was going on, as a means of preventative maintenance and damage control if it ever does come to light.

That said, the whole thing may have been bogus. It very much seemed like it was made up on the spot. At every turn the situation seemed to mimic exactly what the Buyer needed to support his cause, and at every turn the facts were revised to fit a better Buyer story (i.e. the lack of communication wasn't mentioned in the first post, but it became rampant in a revisionist manner by the 3rd page...).

It sounds to me like yall are more pissed that he didnt take your advice than he is that the deal went bad..or not bad..or whatever.

1. If he gets screwed I think there is a obligation to let people know who the guy is so they dont have the same dealings.
2. If it doesnt go bad then no harm no foul.

Point is he started a thread asking for advice, you gave it, he didnt take it, now he is a "buster". Doesnt seem right.

Advice on OSO is something that should always be carefully considered seeing as how there is always some clown that just bought a boat and is an expert, or hitman, or collector for the mob or whatever.

Buster here. It absolutely was not bogous. I don't recall ever changing facts. I added facts as I went along to clarify. I actually did take advice from several members posting just not the advice some of you wanted me to take. The first piece of advice I took was to stay calm and try to work it out which is what happened. The second piece of advice I took was it might be time to delete the thread. I would love for the seller to out himself I made him aware of the thread. Since things were settled I don't think it's my place to out him.

To be perfectly honest I'm not pissed....I just feel by not letting members know who is screwing him it puts others at the same risk.

Also...just the fact that he felt the need to ask the question "how long until you out another OSO member" means he already knew the answer.

He asked a question....he got the answer...he chose not to out him. Now if I get screwed by the same guy.....then I'll be pissed!

I agree! If someone has bad service. I would want to know. Why should someone else have to deal with the same bad experience someone had to already gone thru.

Aren't we one big happy family here that helps each other out!!

Look man, I'm glad you got it resolved...really....this hobby/sport is expensive enough as it is. To have somebody string you along or screw you over only adds to this expense.

You say you made the seller aware of the thread...do you think that had anything to do with the problem being solved?.....wait don't answer....a simple "thank you" to the OSO community will be fine :circle:

Sunshadow, one thing to know about OSO, particularly the GD area is it feeds on drama. I used to refer to GD as the Jerry Springer show. I've been here a long time and seen a lot. Don't let any of this rub you wrong, really. Its all good.

As for JDUB, well he 's a ho. A ho thats not been blueprinted :coolcowboy:

Just a few thoughts on this thread:
>Glad you got resolution.
>I think you posted this thread in part to get opinions and in part hoping he saw this and it motivated him to settle.
>I'm sure a few here seem to feel that they got used for your own benefit.
>The seller did not act with the interests of his client, but for his own benefit since he had no problem cashing the check.
>It's possible he was just going to screw you had you not pressed the issue on OSO which means that he has acted like this before and probably will again.
>Many here are upset that they won't know who to avoid in the future since you got the outcome you wanted.

Relationships on this board (at least in the old days) are strong from a community standpoint. We tend(ed) to look out for each other since this business seems to be permeated with scumbags with little or no integrity. The fact that we were quite possibly used has rankled a few feathers since one of the reasons we frequent or belong to sites like these are to look out for each other and lend a hand when necessary. Many have been outed before and the community is all the better for it, I know for a fact that it has saved many headaches and some real dirtbags have been exposed. Too bad this incident will remain between the two of you.

45sonic 02-26-2010 06:59 PM

Probably should have been put in the "Beware of " section but I do have to agree with most of the intelligent answers on here.

Thanks Guys, I got a call from the seller about two minutes after I told him the thread was about him. Without a doubt I got action because of you.

What he said, however if the seller had a good reason, he can come on here and say his apologies or reason...Hey how about a seller rating or feedback system in the classifieds? like on ebay, giving anyone a chance to say how the transaction went, ie slow payer/slow shiper and such, might tend to keep people honest...suggestions?

The proper terminology, I believe, is: The power of OSO. :drink:

This thread has had a very reasoned feel to it. Even if the vibrators weren't new.

What were his excuses for not shipping the item in a timely matter? If it was said I missed it.
