Beautiful Boat.

Chuck 03-04-2010 07:08 AM

Wow, that boat was a work of art. I;m sure they will build another. Got to keep the rivalry going with "MyWay".

Jassman 03-04-2010 07:11 AM

which boat was that.. the 50 NorTech cat or one of the OuterLimits..

salesmanship 03-04-2010 07:56 AM

I just got a call from a fire inspector. He said they working on the boat. Somebody dropped a halogen lamp in the cockpit. It broke and started the fire.
They were in the process of getting it ready for the season.

offshoredrillin 03-04-2010 08:02 AM

Sad, Larry is such a great guy. We had his Lamborghini in our display at the SEMA show a couple years ago. Glad no one was hurt.

It really was a remarkable boat. The boat ran close to 200 in 04 or 05. This pic is not the fastest it ran. :drink:

Wild 03-04-2010 09:55 AM

is that the green quad nortech

jayboat 03-04-2010 10:00 AM

Damn. Hate to hear this.

Lmarth 03-04-2010 10:12 AM

Extreme Exhibit was the quad-Sterling'd, 50' Nor Tech. Occaisonally, Jim would have it on his bay front home's hoist. I'd motor by on my way to Lake Ontario and admire it. Truly, a beautiful boat. Shocking....

lowblue320 03-04-2010 10:12 AM

That was an awesome boat. Your company has built some outstanding boats. Keep those masterpieces coming.

Panther 03-04-2010 04:30 PM

I remember seeing it at the NYC poker run a number of years ago....

I thought the 4 into 2 exhaust was awesome!

What a heart breaker for those guys.... Hope they had fire insurance. :(

sdodson1 03-04-2010 04:37 PM

Such a shame! It was one hell of a boat!! I hadnt seen in a while like others said and was wondering what was up. I think Dave Scott and the Bacardi Silver boats always had the fastest piston boats but I could be wrong.

WOW!!!! That truely is a piece of art! Sad.

x7734x 03-05-2010 08:18 PM

That sucks...

wananewboat 03-06-2010 07:11 AM

Just thinking, but would the boat insurance cover that or the building insurance? For the value of that boat would it have to be both. I hope no one was hurt.

Ran-Dom 32 03-06-2010 07:18 AM

that's why you have insurance on the boat, the building policy would not cover any part of the boat, I've seen this happen a few times over the years, most storage fac. req. you to carry your own policy on the boat, so they are not responsible for anything that might happen

wananewboat 03-06-2010 11:53 AM

Even if it's your own building and you listed it on the policy with the insurance company?

nope, the boat would need its own policy... the boat owner would then have to go after the building owners liability policy for subregation (sp) if you own both that is not impossible but highly unlikly....

what a shame seen the boat at SMOW in 03 or 04 it was awesome...

FIVEPTOHH 03-06-2010 08:54 PM

The boat was in his own building where he runs one of his businesses. From what I have heard there was just a lot of smoke damage to the building and a big mess from all of the special foam they had to use to put out the boat fire.
