Big thanks to Dock Holiday for suggesting this shindig and OSO, Freeze Frame, Glassdave, Talk N Trash, JD Byrider, XT Innovations, TeamBaja, and Dock Holiday for the door prizes. Lots of people got together early yesterday afternoon for a tour of Checkmate and then they met up with some more people at Bakers Sports Shack in lovely down town Bucyrus for some good food, good drinks and good fun.

First thing I needed to do when I arrived was get the OSO banner hung and I was tryin to get the Leonhardt boys to help me but they both had their hands full so I asked Mr. Serious himself to help me and being the good sport that he is, Sunkin helped me hang the OSO banner :D Im sure there are pictures of that somewhere but I dont have them ...... :party-smiley-004:

Now thats funny.

I have no idea who is pictured can anyone help tag the people inthe photos. I wish I could have made it but Uncle Sam laid the smack down on me this tax season and I had to tighten the belt.

Thanks,
Rob

and finally, we went to the basement of the Crazy Fox which was a speak easy back in the day. Capone and Dillinger both used to frequent our town. The trains and one of our main roads is a direct path to Chicago so they would stop here on their way out east. The street along the railroad tracks was our red light district. Most of our down town has tunnels running under the buildings. Ive been in a few of them ... cool and scary at the same time.

Anyway, the booths in the speak easy are brick .... a few have bullet holes  Our tourism board gives tours and does dinner theaters down there a few times a year.

WOW!! i really enjoyed myself!

Well after a 4 hour nap most of the pain brought on by excess of fluids have passed. This was certainly the best time I have had in a long time and it was nice to put faces together with screen names of the members of this and other sites.

Doc the boat is truly a work of art and a real bummer if it has to go.

To the former Baja employees a pleasure as always and thanks for the winter break.

Best part was that I finally got to meet RG

Some how Mic ended up with the banner but I already knew you wanted it. I told him before we went out to the truck that I was going to give it to you.

I do not remember the cat fight but I do remember Greg's cat nap.

About the shirts..... I was sitting on the couch last night when I hear 1 of my girls ask my wife "whats that mean". referring to the first line on the bottom of the event shirts. My wife gives me a look and all I could come up with was " Thats what the boys from Ohio do when they go out on boats"

I think it was from one of Docs favorite shirts I own. :drink:

Good seeing you again Brian, maybe we should have a boys night out in your hood. Are you close to Greektown?

brian41 03-07-2010 06:11 PM

I am about 1/2 hour away from Greektown and you guys are always welcome. I will be opening the pool in a couple of weeks but would be enforcing mandatory restroom breaks with this crowd. Some may confuse it with the pee pool at PIB after a few rounds.

Tell Dave it would be a good excuse to pick up the back seat if I find it.
