Default Bravo Xr's On Top Gun

i've got an 89 top gun with bravo ones on it which have been beefed up a little, but i've recently re powered with supercharged 502's that I bought from cobra power.

I believe the engines are 680 or so hp each.

Obviously I am going to have to get bigger drives, and I'm looking at XR's.

Can I please have some advise on the best place to get them, does anyone know any second hand ones that are in good condition and how much i'd expect to pay for new ones and good condition reco's...

thanks heaps.

XR's are better than Bravos......but on your boat it just means they'll last longer before breaking (not that they won't break).

If you want XR's, I just sold my boat and have my spare for sale. New upper case, new gears/bearings lower re-sealed, sanded/painted/clear-coated. $5K

680Hp that is SC'd will have a lot of torque. That combined with the weight(about 11,000lbs dry) of an 89 Top Gun is going being a drive buster. I think you need to look into some Imco SCX's or Max Machine Worx drives. I would skip the XR's and just have a few regular Bravo's on hand for spares for now. No reason to break an $7000 XR when you can break a $3500 regular Bravo instead.

Hi Jez,

Mate, I would enter but I don't think it is ever going to happen unfortunately, although I'd love to see it.

Did you ever sell your scarab?
