Question for boat Riggers circa 1991
I am getting new switch and breaker panels made. I took my old ones off this evening. Below each row of switches and breakers, on the back side, there is what looks like a tin foil strip encased in plastic with 2 small wires attached at one end with what looks like a capacitor. I think it says Boniar Kard-O-lite on a tag on one end.
What is it? For noise or static suppression?
Do I need it when I put in all new switches and breakers?
Thanks
Mark

if it is behind where there are labels it sounds like it is an electro luminesent light strip. I work for Super Hawaii but I worked in Sarasota on the race team so we never saw the production boats. If it is the light strip you can use it or toss it. your choice.

Ahh, that'w what it is. I just looked at my old panels and the strip was placed behind where the lettering was etched in the coating.
Thanks
