Gonna need a blower to really get them to open up. :)

I have helped pull some pistons on a 7 cyl Wartsila before. If I recall correctly, it was something like 3,000 hours between ring changes. We always had a spare piston on board, so the engine wasnt down for more than a few hours.

The ship I worked on used a straight drive coupled to a variable pitch propeller. the engine ran a constant 115 rpm. the drive shaft was like 90 feet long and 18" in diameter turning a 20 foot pitch prop. we would run 20 knots.
