x-dim refers to the distance from the bottom of the hull to the center line of the crankshaft.
On a standard bravo the distance from the prop shaft to the input shaft is 21-13/16 I am assuming the 1" dimension you talk about is having the prop shaft 1" below the bottom of hull this would equate to a x-dim of 20-13/16. If he meant 1 inch above the bottom of the hull the x-dim wouild be 22-13/16 |
thanks for your reply
i meant to say 17" x dimensions cheers |
Do a search this has been covered many times, I have one that is under the "Drives" section called "what is your drive height". I raised mine up 3" from stock, I think the x went from 15.25" to 18.25". All boats are different, too low too slow, too high and it will not plane off.

what type of boat did you have and what gain did you get
thankyou |
17" is the correct X for a 28 Pantera. That puts the propshaft height at about 4.75" below the bottom.

Single engine pleasure 28 Panteras need the X at 17" and thats even agressive. Any higher and its hard to carry the bow. You can go to about 17.5 or maybe 18 on a lighter race/poker run boat with no cabin.

17 was the height set in factory racing.
