Lake Murray Powerboat Club Meet & Greet This Friday!
The Lake Murray Powerboat Club will have a "Meet & Greet Get Together" at the Lighthouse Marina this Friday, April 26 at 7PM. This will give us an opportunity to meet some of the new members of the LMPC as well as some of the OSO members that will be in town for the Lake Murray Poker Run on Saturday. Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you need any info! We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Sounds like a good time. I have a question, Is the same Lake Murray that is scheduled to be drawn down, this year or next for an EARTHQUAKE prevention measure? I find that a tough one to believe! What will happen to the LMPC? I wish you all the best of luck.

Hey Dean!
Unfortunately, this IS the same Lake Murray that is scheduled to be drawn down for the next 20 months (if everything goes as scheduled)!
As far as the LMPC goes, we plan on visiting other places that we normally wouldn't get to. We would like to get together with some of the other OSO members and boating clubs along the east coast. One of our members, Brad, is also a member of the Florida Powerboat Club and we are planning on doing one of the poker runs with him and the rest of the FPC. Maybe we'll have the opportunity to meet you and thank you for all that you're doing to keep boating in FL!

P.S. You ought to make the trip up here...we plan on enjoying this year and it's gonna be a blast!

Cat,
Thanks for the kind words, and sounds like you folks are going to make the best of a bad situation. Hopefully, the lake draw down will be for 20 months and NO more!!
I hope there STILL is inland waterways in Fl. for the LMPC to enjoy in the future! Unfortunatly, it's not looking very good, we have a long hill to climb, and the STMC just keeps putting more boulders on the hill for us boaters to climb over! We have taken our boat off the lift, put it back on the trailer, and are thinking about leaving it on the trailer, so we don't have to IDLE FOR 9 MILES, but who knows? It might be time to sell the boat and get some horses?
Good luck,
MD

Brad,
I think that's going to be discussed on Friday at the "Meet & Greet". We wanted to see what you guys wanted to do before any decision was made. I do know that Kenneth wants to get a group shot of everyone on their boats sometime on Saturday...I think he's shooting for earlier instead of later in the day!
See ya on Friday!
