Try Progressive. They have insured boats in the past for me that no one else would insure. Is it Hp that they're complaining about, or value? I've been pretty good at getting away with lying about Hp in the past, but I don't know how risky it is. I worry more about theft/fires than I do high speed collisions or failures.

I'm sure the break in the deal is just because it's a "Cat" and to top it off, most likely his first cat? Not even Gieco insures cats and their the biggest promoter in the sport, go figure. Stacey can help and some othere on OSO as well. Be ready for a boning and no LUBE!

Hardly anyone will insure a cat especially a first time cat owner. Is that 29' a single engine? That would explain your rate. I went from a 30' Scarab twin at under $800. per year to a 32' cat same engines out of the Scarab to $over $3000. per year first year.
