Joey, where was the mic? I thought it would be louder in the cockpit at that speed.

Did you get out of it because you were running out of room or went through the traps?

Seems like it was still climbing pretty steady when you backed off.

looked like they went through the traps at 198mph. A bouy goes by the port side right as they pass 197.5-198mph.

Nice run....we'd love to see you come to LOTO in the fall for the Shootout and see if you can come close to John Cosker's record run of 209 mph run from back in 2007.... Since then the best was Dave Scott's sweet run last year at 196 mph... Not taking anything away from your run but I'm sure both them were seeing some pretty big numbers on GPS after going through the timing traps...

We've become spoiled here and want to see another big turbine boat see if it can claim the Top Gun and beat Miss Longlife's record...or even the fastest Mystic....

I was really great to see the turnout for the speed run.

And a special thanks to the organizers to allowing us to make some unofficial exhibition runs outside the official parameters of the run. This allowed us to push the JBS Racing Turbine Marine Mystic Boat to beyond the infamous, 200 MPH mark. While this 206.0 MPH run was unofficial; our official run for the day would turn out to be 178+ allowing us to claim the "King Of The Desert" Fastest Recorded Speed.

Turbine Marine and Mystic Powerboats are building one of the most impressive race machines in the world!
Joe-was that 178 mph run from a 30 mph roll at the start line or did you spool up way back by the kon tiki boat? There was one run i heard that you hit the starting line at 122 mph.

No; the 122 start was trying to better the 206 run. They wanted us to see what we could get! I think the boat could accelerate more than 56mph in that distance!

In fact the distance was found to be a bit short.

Thanks again Turbine Marine and Mystic for the amazing support and equipment.... AND POPRA, the many people looking out for our safety, Teague Marine, and all the others that made it happen!

Callan Racing / Miss Longlite was a Mystic...is now the Geico Mystic. So how about Geico, JBS and Nauti shoot it out this year? Now that would be fun to watch!

Default Speacial thanks to Turbine Marine

On behalf of JBS Racing I would like to say thank you to
John Arruda of Turbine Marine Inc. for his support of JBS Racing during Desert Storm 2010. As with many things in life there are people behind the scenes that truly make great things happen. John sent a support staff of 2 of his employes
and 1 former member of a world champion race team to Lake Havasu to help JBS Racing capture the infamous (King of the Desert) crown. With the help of Jordan Armsey , Josh Gibbs, and Shawn Conner JBS Racing had a very successful and fun weekend.

Thank you,
Brian Reeves

The MGR Mystic ran 210 with 2750hp T55s. It will be tough for JBS to match that with 1850hp T53s.
