Ford-F650. Where to buy?

A buddy was in havasu for Desert Storm and has been bitten by the F-650 bug. No one has them for sale around here. Where's the best place to buy one? He'll be in Miami in a couple weeks. Anyone out there have them?

C M R 04-28-2010 03:58 PM

www.f650pickups.com

Located in Augusta, GA. Never personally delt with them but worth a call.

Catmando 04-28-2010 04:06 PM

Shaq bought his from www.F650pickups.com. So did the owner of Cobra boats and Jeff Stevenson of JBS Racing. They have an excellent reputation.

Ask for Chris @ www.f650pickups.com.

They are the ones that built my 650. brought it back to them two years later, and they tweaked a few things for me, and added front airbag suspension, and dump bed.
Great customer service, and outstanding quality work.

Rob,

Just got your message tonight. Thanks for the call and the nice remarks. I really appreciate it guys! I will call you back tomorrow. I do have this one for sale:

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o33451-en.html

I am also picking up the same F650 but in two wheel drive tomorrow. The miles, color, wheels, air ride, motor are almost identical. The 4x2 has the F150 headlights on it. I can take trades on both trucks.

this is the two wheel drive. The owner has added stainless steel custom sides to cover the fuel tanks with custom step boards. It looks really nice.

VERY nice!
Have been looking at them hard myself.
I know the CAT is the way to go but are the Cummins that much less power or what?

Indy 04-29-2010 04:24 PM

I bought my F250 from Mat, I met his guys half way in MD at my cousin's house then drove it back to my home in CT. The transaction took about 10 minutes, couldn't have been easier. It's not as cool at the truck in post #11 but it does me fine.

The CAT makes 300hp/860 torque in stock form. It can be raised to 330/960 for a $5000 upcharge. The Cummins makes 350/650 in stock form. For $5000 it can be raised to over 500/1000. Both engines are very capable of towing heavy loads and are made in America, so take your pick...but my truck has the Cummins so I would pick that one.

I would like to see the Mercedes 12.8L that makes 450hp/1650torque as an option for these trucks. One of our members from Louisiana has a Freightliner P2 with that motor towing a 40' Skater. I doubt he knows the boat is even back there with that much power...

302Sport 04-29-2010 06:24 PM

the down side with the cummins is you have to rev the piss out of it to make the power.........

Catmando 04-29-2010 06:29 PM

Yes that's the only negative, that the 350hp doesn't hit until 2800rpms or so, but the upside is you can't hurt a Cummins revving it.

Catmando 04-29-2010 06:31 PM

BTW shouldn't this thread be in the trucks and trailers forum??

mcraymond3 04-29-2010 08:16 PM

We do the F150 headlights. The lights are cheap, about $150-200 depending on which ones you pick. The labor however is about $2,000. It takes a while to do but sure looks good when finished.

The 08 mirrors are easy bolt on. You do have to wire up the marker lights but that isn't hard either.

I like that white 6 door with the haul bed. The longest wheelbase you can get is always a good thing. It needs those big chrome DOT fuel tanks though. Or have them painted white to match...

NASCAT 04-30-2010 07:55 AM

this one has been for sale in the Charlotte, NC area for nearly a year. No clue what they are worth or whether it's priced competitive. Awesome machine unfortunately may day job prefers I own GM products!
