plumbgirl87 04-24-2002 10:01 PM

I have no ax to grind or any adgenda. I'm just calling it as I see it.

Audiofn 04-24-2002 10:04 PM

So tell us what did you see? What is your experience, ie spectator, former racer, former race crew??

plumbgirl87 04-24-2002 10:08 PM

All I'm trying to do is get the facts, not speculation from someone who has a problem with Campbell.

Yup and also when asked what the facts are can not give them. Well Plum I will say this I got my facts from two very reputable people so lets hear what you have to say or we will go with the original story of THEY MESSED UP HUGE, and this time got lucky that only fiberglass was damaged.

NIT2WIN 04-24-2002 10:16 PM

Plumbgirl

Quite the contrary instead of speculation I deal with facts. Of course, maybe you have more experience than I in competitive offshore racing. I don't know. What I do know is that, if it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, and it flys like a duck then its a freakin duck. QUACK

GOFSTCAT 04-24-2002 10:17 PM

if it looks like a duck ....... and walks like a duck.......:D

boot 04-24-2002 10:43 PM

I am no racer by any means . I do own a big cat with big power ,and I can say it's a hand full for pleasure use . I think racers at some level should have to be trained and certified .

I think the fact is they should not have been where they were to start with . If the rules say to stay back then you stay back .......

otcbb4me 04-24-2002 10:44 PM

Joey V.
Long time no see. You still have my office number? Give me a call to talk about power.

Peter C.

NIT2WIN 04-24-2002 10:53 PM

Mr. C. Long time no see. Good to hear from you though. Unfortunately, I will be in meetings all day tomorrow but look for my call on Friday.:)

BryanTuvell 04-24-2002 10:56 PM

Great thread! Us race fans like the real skinny.
Plumber Girl, you are down 2 seconds into turn two, you are fading on the pack!

NIT2WIN 04-24-2002 10:57 PM

I would love to see Plumpgirl question T2X on his views of what happened in that race. Then we could all sit back and have a good laugh. Afterall, it would be better than watching T.V.

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 01:19 AM

Troutly,

Thank you for making me feel so welcomed on this board. I look forward to educating all those who want to learn or know what it's like inside the cockpit of a Superboat. Additionally, Amen to the three prices!!!!

DJD 04-25-2002 08:22 AM

Please pass the popcorn, this is getting interesting.

NIT2WIN started late in the back of the pack......

Many others in the middle of the pack but plumbgirl hoses down Audiofn & takes the lead.......

NIT2WIN blows by the fleet, now running in first place, followed by Audiofn, Risktaker, boot etc. and broken down in the infield, running on one motor is plumbgirl.

Lets see how the contestants make out on the next lap..........

Shane 04-25-2002 08:59 AM

I was thinking the same thing about plumbergirl. Then all you BRANIACS had to BEAT ME TO THE PUNCH! ;) I agree, what IS YOUR experience PLUMBERGIRL? I raced ProStock and B Class for 6 years and you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS STAY BACK YOUR ROOKIE SEASON! Also, Priestly SET NO RECORD! He was in the BACK SEAT of Planetman. No disrespect to Jason, just next time he should take some time to learn a race boat cuz it ain't no race car! He may be an excellent race car driver but that will not necessarily translate into being a good Superboat Driver. Besta of luck to Jason and whomever he chooses for a T-man for a SAFE and SUCCESSFUL season.

Oh, and PLUMBERGIRL, sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

DJD, is that a good HOSE DOWN?

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 09:08 AM

Shane,

Your killing me buddy that was wayyyyyy yoo funny! By the way, if you raced pro stock for six years I surely must have raced against you in the 1996 season. I was racing with the now deceased Billy Ford (what a character, God bless his soul) in a 35' motion our sponsor was Venus Swimwear.

Shane 04-25-2002 09:18 AM

NIT2WIN in 1996 I ran with Nicky Cutro in the PENNZOIL Shadow. YES I was in it when we stuffed in Key West. BTW, did you know that it was MY FAULT? At least that is what i was told. Oh well. Yeah I remember you. Do you remember me? Anyway, glad I mad you laugh. Funny how she hasn't replied lately.

T2x 04-25-2002 09:20 AM

I think what we have here is a conflict between Jason Priestly , the cute little actor who sent teenage girl's hearts fluttering a few years ago, and Jason Priestly, the over his head rookie driver in a Superboat. Please confine your opinions accordingly.

Jason is a better actor than Matt Alcone, Matt Alcone is a better driver than Jason. There is no doubt that Jerry Gilbreath and John Tomlinson and Bobby Moore and Doug Lewis and Joey Imprescia and Art Lilly and Bob Idoni and Felix Serralles and a lot of other guys are better throttlemen than Dan Campbell.

What bothers me most is that we are wasting a lot of time on what is obviously nothing more than a grab for P.R. and hype.......and neither of those things have any place on a race course. They may be good to promote a sport or a TV package, but a bright smile and dimples have no effect on racing situations. Sadly, Jason is a prime example of "Are you a boat racer?...... No, but I play one on TV....."

The only value to come out of all this will be if "Rookie rules" and qualification standards are a result. As to the "star worship", leave it for teen magazines and "ET".....where it belongs.

T2x

PS: As to all of this "wishing Jason luck and hoping he sticks with it".......wish him no more nor less than any other rookie....and.... do you racers really want a guy around who gets half of the(your) media exposure simply because he starred in a long since canceled TV series? All of the other celebrities left the sport no better than they found it, and used it only to further their own publicity agendas...... I assure you that if Jason Priestly has a "comeback" hit movie and elevates to Hollywood's "A" list......... You'll never see him again.......... Isn't that right, Don Johnson?

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 09:31 AM

Shane,

Holy Mackeral! I think I still have a few pieces of your boat that I use for toothpicks now and then! That was a miracle from the one above that you didn't get killed. Yes, I definitely remember you guys thank goodness you were all right. By the way, welcome aboard your insight is greatly appreciated.

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 09:33 AM

Shane,

By the way, the last time I was down in the Keys I could have sworn I saw someone using your boat as a rickshaw. LOL

Shane 04-25-2002 09:38 AM

LMAO! I didn't own the boat. It was owned by Nicky. Charlie haimes and the Restore boys were singing "WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE" to us at all along DUVAL STREET!:D :D :D Funny as hell. I hope the piece you are using as your tooth pick doesn't have my poop stains on it!:D

plumbgirl87 04-25-2002 09:40 AM

Good Morning Gentlemen. I see you have all been busy. I had some things to do last night and had to sign off.

As for the question of experience, I have been around offshore
racing for about 20 years.

As for my supposed "thing" for Mr. Campbell. FALSE, I just as I said call it as I see it.

Have to get back to my real job now. I will post the facts of the accident later today when I have more time.

Have Fun!

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 09:42 AM

T2X,

Thanks for your input. I'm sure everyone appreciates your tell it like you see it style. I guess the real question is, "how long will this continue and will someone have to pay the ultimate price before the rules change". I saw the Pier 57 and guys that picture in the gallery section doesn't do the grave damage any justice. Another 6 feet and Art would be history I don't care whether that boat had a roll cage in the canopy or not, that wasn't prop damage that was sponson damage. That Jaguar weighs about 22,000 pounds loaded with fuel thats the same as an 18 wheeler going 90+ mph slamming into something while out of control.

LMFAO :D :D :D

And Plumb is back........this should make for an interesting day.;)

Shane 04-25-2002 09:44 AM

What does "I have been around offshore racing for 20 years" mean? Man has been around woman for thousands of years and he still can't call like he sees it! I mean what is your REAL EXPERIENCE? Just because you have watched races doesn't make you an expert. I have been around many things for many yeas and I am not an expert. I have been racing for along time and I still do not consider myself an expert. Informed and knowledgable yes, an expert no!

plumbgirl87 04-25-2002 09:50 AM

I never said I was an expert.

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 09:50 AM

Shane,

You know I did notice some pieces darker than others:eek:

Shane 04-25-2002 09:58 AM

Plumbergirl,

You are absolutely right you never did say you were an expert, but based on your verbiage, one can easily surmize that you see yourself speaking from a standpoint of experience and vast knowledge. I stand corrected for insinuating that you were holding yourself out to be an expert.

DJD 04-25-2002 10:34 AM

Plumbgirl is back up & running although Shane has hosed her down in his yellow submarine (lol).
It's neck and neck.
Plumbgirl is right behind T2X (will there be another hose down???)
Audio seems to be stuck at the pickle park but might end up in the running.

Shane, how come you guys retired Pennoil? A little duck tape & gum would have fixed her right up:eek:

Shane 04-25-2002 10:36 AM

Oh GREAT! Now Dave Dall thinks he's McGyver!:p :p :p

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 10:38 AM

T2X,

Being that you were or are in the commentation field I'd like your thoughts on what transpired with what was reported to Channel 7 here in Miami. Is that something that we are going to have to live with if we want to continue in this sport?

Maximus 04-25-2002 11:02 AM

Are you being honest with youself?

I actually just read this entire thread without losing interest and I just had to get my two prop turns in.

I have raced almost everything..not profesionally. I like most of the guys (and girls) on this board like to think of myself as some what savy behind the wheel. As a new (supercat light class)Cat owner with stock merc 500's and 40 hours under my belt (recreational) I can honestly say you would have to be PLUMB CRAZY to jump into anything resembiling a supercat without proper training and experience. The aerodynamic and hydrodynamic forces are tremendous and can't be learned on one lap.

To enter a race and go for the win was pure neglegence.

Plumgirl you are out of line and not being honest with yourself, regardless of the details of the accident.

step up or step aside

JFM311 04-25-2002 11:23 AM

DJD with your play by play calling skills you should have been the one with the speedvision gig--not marcus--:D

cowisl 04-25-2002 12:36 PM

From my limited knowledge and from reading all the posts, something must be done. We have world class racers on this forum all agreeing that he should have started behind the pack. It is simply unacceptable for a rookie to expect to run competitively on his first race in a foreign boat. We all learn from mistakes, so lets(racers) change the rules so it doesnt happen again.
Regards,
Chris

DJD 04-25-2002 02:31 PM

AAAeeeee OOOOOhhhhhh, I'm good at dis chit LOL

Hauling Trash 04-25-2002 05:15 PM

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 06:20 PM

Not nearly as good as it is going to get when Plumgirl comes back on to teach us a thing or two about competitive offshore racing:)

NIT2WIN 04-25-2002 06:23 PM

I don't know maybe she can teach me something about my old T-man D.C. that I don't already know.

Zoomnfun 04-25-2002 07:45 PM

T2x is the best:D

The plumber is DQ'd for lack of any real experiance:p

BryanTuvell 04-25-2002 08:01 PM

Lead has now stretched to 5 seconds, PLUMBER GIRL we await the facts you promised.
