Are propshaft threads repairable?

If you have had any experience with damaged threads on a propshaft, please take a look at this thread:

I could use the input before I move forward.
Thanks in advance.

Brian, Snapon makes a thread chaser that you can put on the good portion of the shaft and thread off. It clamps on and has interchangable cutters.

Or - as Hotpursuit says bring it to a machine shop. If you want to send it down here we can clean it up for you.

Thank you Marc. I am sending you an email.

LapseofReason 05-04-2010 01:55 PM

I can fix it., can you bring it by my work.

Sydwayz 05-04-2010 02:12 PM

Thank you Greg! I may do that next week. I will call you if so.

LapseofReason 05-04-2010 02:19 PM

Should be able to do it in just a few minutes if it can be done. Sounds like a chaser or thread file and you will be good as new, I do it all the time here with axles, cranks, steering stems, so I am sure I have the tools needed. I am here M-F 9ish to 7ish you still have my cell # ?
