Road Trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and my buddy are heading out of good ol PA up north to Mass to take a look at a 255 IMP eleganza on Saturday
See, Bring a boat home, All your friends start oogling over yours and stand behind the wheel (while boat is on trailer in your side yard mind you) and grip the throttles, look down over the bow, imagining that they are cruising around 65 and both engines are torkin up and revvin up pretty good. Now my buddy decided, Okay got a few bucks, lets do it So when we went to Connecticut to pick up my ride, he came with me, now IM in the passenger seat and he is going to be driving Now I have to get Russ to sign up to OSO and then were golden WOOHOO Love the road trip Just like the "Adventures of Biggus and Audio" Jason |
Have fun dude! :D :D

Gotta love them road trips!!!!

Maybe I should have told my friend Russ to go take a look at a 280 Sport up in Maine!!!!!!
Whats up Kurt? ever fix the engine temp issue in the cig? Hows she running? You ever going to sell the 280 or are you just holding on to her for sentimental reasons? Just saw my boat yesterday sitting on cinder blocks at the marina, :( I was ready to cry Well Now my friend russ is scrambling around trying to get this new trailer hitch put on the bronco today or we are going to have to take my f350 on the road trip (which means mongo more fuel than the bronco) Well my friends (and me lord) good to see everyone is getting ready for a great boating season except me LOL Im going to take my video camera with me to capture these events on saturday, maybe make my first MPG file and post it some where up on net of Russ's IMP Then get him to sign up with OSO and life will be good Hope you guys have a great summer and Ill be talking to both of you Jason |
Have fun guys. Hope your friend finds what he's looking for.

Well here are some pics that I shrunk down to let you all see what this thing looks like
Hey playn, sure you dont want to sell your 250 for about 10 g's ? It is so clean you can lick the intake manifold and only taste horsepower Well the guy has the title so i would assume that the boat is paid off or we would have to go through hoops to get the title and so on. How do you check if there is a lien on a boat? who would put a lean on a 88 IMP? Jason |

What is your opinion on this boat?
Overall it does not look that bad Has new paint, rebuilt Bravo one last year, rebuilt engine last year, new gimbal ring, swivel shaft, bellows boots, shifter and throttle cables, (although retarded quicksilver shifter BLAH that is going in the garbage quick) Engine compartment needs a big splash of chrome and mirrors, the bolsters need some vinyl repair work, All in all, for 10 grand (might try to chew him down to 9500) I dont think it is that bad Have to take a rubber mallet with me and bang on the hull and listen for any broken fiberglass or separated stringers if possible (tough to do on roller trailer) Overall it seems okay, no it is not an outerlimits, nor a cig but hey for 10 grand and my friends first real boat (not is 14 ft aluminum 9.9 hp fishing boat) seems to be okay from pics, truth will be told in Mass Tomorrow He is so pumped up, Just like me, when I got my baby Let me know what you think from the pics as an observation Thanks Jason |
Jay, I have the Baja in the water up here. I had it sold as of Saturday but the buyer had some trouble with financing and backed out.
I`m about 3 hrs noth of Boston and if you want to criuse further north, I`ll take you guys for a ride in the Baja. I sent the carbs for the Cigarette out to Nickerson Performance to be set up for running up here. If you make it up give me a call at 207-232-9273 Kurt. |

Just because he has the title doesn't mean there isn't a lien filed against the boat. The only sure way is to get all the numbers off the boat and title and have a search done. I ASSume you are putting the boat in the water for a test drive???? Take it slow and easy ... there are thousands of boats for sale ...

Well the trip never happened
Friday he was scrambling for the loan place to get the check to him for the finance amount and they failed. (always someone else's screw up) Anyway, We decided to get things right, got the hitch in stalled on his truck after a painful 2 hour wait in line at the gay Uhaul place around the corner. Got that done, got a ball and ball mount. so now he can tow his own boat home if possible and no need to take the F350 up there. Since we are waiting on the check from the loan company, he is fuming but will have to wait another week. Sunday morning about 4 am is when we plan on leaving PA and heading up north. Kurt, I would LOVE to believe me but I dont know if it is in the cards since boston is about 6 hrs from here, and I have to work on Monday and getting married the 11th of May and lots to do. I sincerely thank you for the offer and I hope I can take a rain check and maybe later this summer, take a weekend and cruise up the east coast. Sounds like the cig is coming along, that is great, good luck with it and have fun with it. Ill keep everyone posted on the travels of Russ and Jay Thanks Jason Owner said something about a small blister in the hull? Is that from improper layup or just degrading fiberglass? Whats the fix for it? |
|
well something seems sort of strange now
I emailed the owner to send me a pic or two of the blisters in the hull and asked where they were. Got a response asking if everything was okay in Bank land and if there was anything else we needed before we came up. Well yeah, bank land is just find there lady, dont you concern yourself with Russ's finances there, I wrote back yeah I would like TO SEE PICS OF THE BLISTERS (second time I asked) Never heard from them again So IM going to write them a third time and see what the F their problem is They took 20000000000000 pics of this thing and not ONE shows the blisters Well why is that? Are they worse than you are leading on about or what? So im getting annoyed but Russ is pumped up to go. I will evaluate this thing and bang the hull with a mallet and see what shakes loose, also I am going to cut open those blisters and see what comes out. Not sure if it is from Inside or if it is between the Gelcoat and the skin out mat. Either way, if we decide to go with this ride, then we can use it as leverage at this point I feel the boat is more disposable anyway. 9-10 grand, drive it for a few years, dump it for 5-6 he will get his money's worth out of it and that is it, done gone Just worried if the whole area where blisters are is soft and mushy or if it is just gel coat repair with epoxy repair kit and some gel or paint We shall see Going sunday morning 4am sharp Jason |
