yellow gas stain on white gel?
Fuel out of the vent got on the boat today. The yellow stain is not coming off with soap and water.
What works? |
Hull and Bottom Cleaner by Mary Kate. Don't inhale or touch the stuff though.

is there a non acid base cleaner that works..anyone tried CLR?

Might fade pretty quickly in the sun.

Try toilet bowl cleaner. If that doesn't work...sand/or compound and buff.

thanks

I would just use some buffing compound and elbow grease. Some of those chemicals can really destroy paint, gel, or even the fiberglass. If you really feel the need to use a house hold cleaner, try acetic acid (vinegar). You could also use some Soft Scrub. That stuff works well.

Try some Clorox Clean Up. It cuts grease and will bleach out stains. Acids generally don't work on greasy or petroleum based stains.

one time as I drove up to get fuel at a dock they had a gas spill.. it made a yellow glue slime on the hull. Industrial acetone worked perfectly. It also stripped off all wax but worked perfectly. Key word industrial strength
