Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys, I thought I'd throw up another pic of the switch panel, my buddy did a great job. The panels need a good cleaning as you can see in the pic but the whole boat does still.

Oh, and lotoparty ... Thanks, and NO! :D

Katdrvr 04-25-2002 03:20 PM

Looks good. I think you should fly out and redo my dash for me.:D :D

How was the lettering done on your switch panel? It looks great. That's one of my projects for the year, but I need to finish the interior first.

Les

Milord 04-25-2002 03:36 PM

Mike ... that will cost you a bunch of beer ... Canadian too, not that watered down yankee swill! :D

Les, I had them done on a CNC boring mill. The lettering was done on the computer and then a software package translates it into code and it was cut in with a tiny cutter ... took a long time as the stainless is hard and you have to take really small cuts. Then the panels with lettering were sprayed with numerous coats of blue paint and then polished it off the panel so it would stay down in the lettering. I just hope it stays looking like that for a while, no big deal to pull the 2 panels and do every year though.

Milord 04-25-2002 03:44 PM

Fred, I'm sure yours will turn out awesome. I didn't fill all the stress cracks in like you did. That may be next winters project. I almost hate to get rid of the old girl when I've spent so much time working on it over the last year. Might have to keep it for paint and bigger power.

Did yours hit the paint booth yet?

Katdrvr 04-25-2002 03:48 PM

Mil,

If you can get me honest to god "hockey beer", not that watered down yankee swill, down here I will buy all you and I can drink.:D :D

mike

Milord 04-25-2002 03:50 PM

Mike, I will bringing some good Labatt's products with me to LOTO. I couldn't make it for 3 days drinking watered down BUD! :D I'll have a couple cold ones ready for you!

Katdrvr 04-25-2002 03:52 PM

Bring a case and you can drive the cat.:D :D

Katdrvr 04-25-2002 03:53 PM

That should be bring me case.

Steve_H 04-25-2002 06:56 PM

very nice job. Sure makes one heck of an improvement, especially the new throttles. Wish i could make it to the tin fish saturday but its the mother in laws 60th b-day. once again maybe next time.:)

Bill272 04-26-2002 12:05 AM

Looks great! I'd be a little worried about the glare, too. Just get some really dark sunglasses if it's a problem. It looks too good to paint. The controls and the wheel really update it...

Milord 04-26-2002 09:01 AM

Thanks for the compliments guys. I think it was worth the time and money in the end.

Advantage_Rob 04-26-2002 10:06 AM

James,

Looks great, good to see you got it all together so well with that sweet custom look it has. I like the CNC'ed lettering. Glad to see all that effort you put into it turn out so well. See how well finding all that equipment on OSO works. How close is the rest of the project getting to the first splash?

Milord 04-26-2002 10:30 AM

Thanks Rob, the only things left to do are compound the glass, finish the teak and she's in the water! :D
