Interesting Way to Share Frustrations
I guess he likes some air time.
http://www.ContenderBoatsBreachWarranty.com/ CONTENDER QUOTES Quotes from Contender joe neber & Maverick Boats james laffew "An average recreational use, I mean, an enthusiast, is going to put 150 hours a year on a vessel, maybe 175." " You've got to keep the boat in the water. You have to keep everything in contact with the sea." “The boat shouldn't leave the water. A good operator will keep the boat in the water. They're boats, right? They're not airplanes, correct?” “Because what we're talking about is a vessel that's meant to ride straight and level and stay in the water. That's what all boats are designed for. Okay. Designed for.” They are designed to withstand a variety of conditions, none of which involves the prop being out of the water. |

Have them show you how to do it! They make it with 3 big o/b's to fish offshore and props should never leave the water? I would guess you should only run one engine when you hit 1 to 2 foot seas.

This has been a LOOOONG discussion on "the hull truth" and that thread finally got locked down the other day. Like the long hot topic threads here, I stopped reading it some time ago.

Apparently their warranty is void if you go out in 2 foot seas.

Just a creative way for a company to get out of a contested warranty claims. Can you imagine a boat salesman making those statements to a prospective customer? I think not.
There are a few threads about Contender boats. THT has a wealth of great information. It would be a lot better if it was organized better. |
I believe this was one of the first times I saw posts regarding this topic. I was doing a search on Contender boats after seeing some ad for them. The verdict is posted here as well.

"privity"...what a flim flam. hope these guys ultimatley prevail as it looks like Contender is giving them a complete hosing.

It's funny seeing the Contender ads with pictures of the hull jumping waves, hull out of the water :bsflag:
Then a post by someone that was "likely" to buy a Contender, saying how he's sick of those threads and should be shut down. If nothing else, the threads like that are informative for boat buyers, and should prevent people from having a false sense of security by thinking their "Warranty" is something to be relied on for complete protection. Certainly all boats have their issues, and occasionally, a real problem is produced, no matter the brand. |

I don't think he'll sell his boat real quick on this site... |
It's fully backed by Contender, so what's to worry?
"Disclaimer: This is the boat in question as discussed on this website. Per contender headquarters quote on this boat their "independent experts have verified the integrity of this boat". Price: $249,000 obo (Includes Boat "As-Is" and this website domain) If interested contact [email protected] for more information. " :lolhit: |
