I had the same problem with my Gaffrig and changed to a new Livorsi, both the sender and the display.

It works up to about 40mph, mounted in from of the step.

Mine is a Gaffrig (by Livorsi); which is actually a rebranded Humminbird. I am pretty sure my puck gave up over the winter.

If yours looks like this:

http://store.humminbird.com/products/270844/HDR_610_P

...it's a Humminbird.

Now here is the tricky part:
There are/were two models; the HDR 600 and the HDR 610.

The 600 is the older version, which is what I have. It has a RECTANGULAR shaped plug behind the gauge in the wire to the transducer.

The 600 uses the XT 6 20 transducer. I just bought one here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
...and it should be here today. This it the only one that works, and while it does not look like a puck, you can epoxy it to the floor of the hull just like a puck shaped one.

The 610 is the newer version. It has a BARN SHAPED (like a Giant "D") connector behind the gauge.

If you have the 610, you will have to call Humminbird to find out which puck/transducer you need.

http://www.humminbird.com/support/faq.aspx?ask=yes (Number is bottom right.)

They are incredibly helpful, once you get them on the phone. The hold time was a little long. They also sell the parts direct, and you can find them all over eBay, Amazon, and other Internet sales sights via Google Shopping. Good luck.

Several years ago, I had a head unit go bad on my Livorsi (Gaffrig) depth finder, so I bought an entire GL600THW unit that included the head and puck. I have the brand new puck with cable attached, still in the box. I only used the head unit. $35 + shipping if anyone wants it. Send me a PM.
