advice on first go fast boat
i need advice on what boat i should get. this will be my first go fast boat. i plan on keeping the boat for two years tops and would like a single engine. my price range is under 30k and i will be boating on lake erie. the baja 272 and 25 outlaw are at the top of my list right now. if anyone has any advice on what brands and sizes i should be looking at also any websites i would appreciate it.

25 Outlaws are nice boats for the money. They run well in chop and there are some good buys out there right now. You should have not problem finding a nice one in the 30k range.

I would get a 25 Outlaw over a 272. The fairing is much more sturdy and you won't have to worry about the windshield rattling and coming loose. They are almost the same size when you add a platform to the 25.
I would also keep your eyes out for a 25 Active Thunder. They are deeper, faster and built much better. Lots of other manufacturers to consider as well such as Checkmate, Sonic, Powerplay and Powerquest in that size range.

for the money you cant go wrong with the 25 outlaw. i also agree with griff. go with the outlaw over the 272. ive had my outlaw for 5 years and love it. im on my boat every weekend and she runs every time out.

lots of options in your price range...really just depends how old you want to go, and what kind of amenties baja, checkmate, maybe even a formula 271, or scarab 29 would probably be good choices. I think for Erie I wouldn't go any smaller then 25' (says the guy who owns a 22' haha). if your open to twins maybe something like 30' scarabs, wellcraft nova 3's or formula 272's.

You have many options in that range but just like blckkat said it all depends how old you are willing to go. If that doesn't matter to you(which it shouldnt because some older boat if they were kept well are better than some new ones) i would look at a 28 Pantera. You want something that can take punishment in Lake Erie
