Might try checking with a local a/c heating contractor with a sheet metal shop... they order metal all the time... good luck.. if you were in Fl I'd get you some.....

I had a cabinet company in Clinton Twp make me some stainless steel countertops last year with 18 gauge. I can find out where the purchased the SS from on Monday and let you know.

i work for a precision sheet metal company and we buy from several local supplers.with all the tool and die/machine shops up your way im sure there are supplyers close by.

if they sell steel more then likely they sell sheet metal also.

if they wont sell to an individual try looking under sheet metal fabricators for a local shop that will sell you a piece or a full sheet.

I get it in SoCal with one
side polished and has peel
off paper on the polished
side.
Its used a lot in Fast
food places behind the grills.
Should be common in your
area.
Great for Mirrors on head
boards and roofs.
"Customers" have requested
them, Used in side shows
to make things look larger
if bent right.

I had a local shop cut the ends off of my tie bar and was going to get some sngle aluminum from them. They said they can get pretty much anything, but I wasn't looking for sheets of stainless. Might be worth a call though - Select Steel Fabricators on Telegraph just N of 9 mile. 248-387-7521

lee gitting s.s is no hard thing to do but stay away from 400 serses it has to munch carbon in it will rust 304 316 are a better choice welds easy break"s easy but the thinner you go the harder it is to weld i weld all the time for a living 18 to 20 ga is getting on the close tig weld is cost'ly

How thick is that in thousands????

i work at a stainless steel plate company and we have a huge inventory. But i just know the sizes by (ex. 1.500) sizes. i think the smallest we carry is .125 (or 1/8). Let me know.....if we don't carry it, i'm shure i can find a contact who can.

p.s. what grade were you looking for??

20 ga=.036
40ga=.006

i think asking for 40 ga must have been a typo.
paper is .003
