Chalky Outdrive
I am in the process of installing a drive shower on my Bravo 1. Prior to the install I would like to get rid of the chalky white crap superglued onto the outdrive - hence the drive shower. What did you use to get rid of it? I tried a light rubbing compound and it barely touches the stuff!

Sno-Bowl toilet cleaner. Spray it on, watch it dissolve the buildup in seconds, rinse off thoroughly.

I would replace the drive. They are cheap and hard to clean

Excellent suggestion Donzi Mitch. I think I need a new XR or Bmax. Anyone willing to contribute to the DirtyDrive Fund!

I'll give you $25.00 for your old one. That should get you started.:D

You can find a new one just "hanging around":D :D Not really, that would be mean. Cheap but mean.:D

What brand drive shower are you going to install? I am going to get 1 for my sunsation soon. :D

I went with the Simrek summit. An OSO member with a great product. There was a review in hot boat a while back and they had good things to say. I have a WPM wing plate for the hydraulic steering that I had to drill thru to put my "Summit" shower on (took it to a machine shop -three/eighths stainless and a hand drill wasn't even worth a try). Paul Simrek was quick to take care of a screw up I made when ordering also. Nothing but good reports that I have seen on this board as well re: his product.

I just purchased the same shower today also. I am planning on putting it on this week!
