I thought I read about him being away from Fountain, just like you said Matt. but he left several yeas ago? I flew in himself, last year in 2009, at my shop, to visit our facilities and to sign me up as a Baja dealer...

maybe he was only helping on demand for fountain at that time...

Only thing I wish Fountain would do better is clean up the electrical wire rigging under the helm....it is aweful!
I ordered a fuel gauge this week for a 47 fountain. Tony or vicky answered me. they still sell parts for sure!

I thought my hull was unique in having a sloppy wiring install.

I stand corrected. Martin Sanborn left Fountain just before the company filed for bankruptcy. I don't know why I had him gone longer than that.

Maybe my brain has been gone longer than that.

That would be in 2009.

In defense of Fountain, I think we have to put this one in context. For a high performance / semi custom high performance boat, the wiring leaves something to be desired. Compared to most production boats, it's actually pretty good. If you don't believe me, try working on something near the bottom of the JD Pwer rankings someday.

My wiring was so so in my 93 but never had a short or any battery draw. A few dozen clamps and pack of 100 cable ties and we're good to go. As for the ride...Fountain is the best bar none! Maybe fit and finish will step up a notch with lower production numbers.

Maybe they should hire the guy that used to wire power plays.
