Default Oil spill in the gulf of Mexico

How is the oil spill going to effect your boating?

Yea it stinks, we are suppose to be in Destin for a week starting June 20, we can't decide what to do. We have until the 20th of this month to cancel and get our money back.

They have already put a boom across the Bay entering the Gulf of Mexico so for now we are confined to the small river. I also have made vacation plans for two trips to Florida.

I live on the gulf. Well let me clarify I live 30 mins from there ,and this is where we hang out alot during the summer. It is all doom and gloom business wise for the fishing/seafood industry here.
There really is not much for boating here other than the back bays and intercoastal.

Default Funnel

I mentioned to the SWMBO about a big upside down funnel the catch the escaping oil and divert it to a barge with separation capabilities! Then, on the news, they mention just that kind of trap supposed to get 85% of the leak and fill tankers in the meantime while they drill the shutoff well. Perhaps they can capture more than 85% with a couple of these. Said to be ready in 6 to 8 days, fingers crossed!

If it gets to the Gulf Stream the whole Atlantic Seaboard will be at risk. Let's hope those funnels work...
