Apache Projects: Big and Small
Checked in with Mark McManus this morning, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...big-and-small/.
McManus is such an interesting guy, not just because he builds and restores legendary V-bottoms, but because he's a walking history lesson. |
McManus builds a strong safe powerboat...........would like to see a few pics if possible............

Did he, by chance, give you the price tag on either one of those?

The company is called McManus Superboats. From another thread:
"The name or mark for "Apache" for boats is U.S. Trademark Registration Number 706,228. Do a search of this Reg # and you will find that Mark McManus INC is the owner of the mark." As I understand it, McManus builds and restores (which is actually more common for him) Apaches, as well as his own line of McManus Superboats. |

He didn't mention " Cold War " did he? My intent (though it really doesn't matter) was to present a little news on a notable builder. I make a ton of phone calls every day to see what's going on in our world. It's basic beat reporting, but you know, even in a down economy there's always something happening. Mark did not mention "Cold War," unless that's the name of the triple-enigne 54-footer he built not all that long ago. We did talk a bit about that boat and the drama surrounding its ownership. |
