Hull Reccommendations
hello everyone i'm new around here looking for some help on a future boat purchase.
when i was a kid a local builder in the VI took a 23 monza hull mold and started putting sport decks on them. he make a few that were also 25. they were powered by 200 outboards and did around 50-55. ive always wanted one or something of that style.
i dont have a picture but it resembles the superboat 24.
on that note, as of right now i am looking at a few different used boats, but havent really ridden on many of them.
-24 superboat
-26 powerplay sport deck
-monza z-280 (not a sport deck, CC, but i have ridden one)
i dont do much if any offshore fishing, pretty much just island hopping. sport decks are wanted, but i can settle for a CC.
looking for something 55+ mph range, can handle medium chop, 25-30sih feet, outboard engine, and simple, i pretty much need a hull with a motor lol.
any recommendations and comparisons are greatly appreciated. as of now <50k please
thanks!

welcome to the site. Its tough to go wrong with any of those. The Superboat and Powerplay i am familiar with and they are both great boats. You may also want to look at one of Charlie Mccarthys Bannana Boats.

Check out my Sutphen. The 26 is an amazing rough water boat for its size and fast! If your looking for a great boat to get a feel of running a performance boat this could be you!

starting to narrow down on needs here:
-single O/B
-55+ mph
-able to take abuse, in the future it will most likely be left on a mooring ball, ran, not washed off. pretty much ridden hard and put away wet.
-able to take 4-5 foot chop on a regualr basis.
- going to be use for island hopping around the virgin islands, surf excursion, late night bar trips in the bvi. maybe a DD for work lol.
dont need all the fancy crap, want a fast hull that can take a beating, with an outboard motor that doesnt suck fuel, can jump into and go. no bathroom, matresses, pillows, carpet, electronics, or anything of that sort. a race boat that can be DD.
