Mercury 1300/1350 Production on Track
Spoke with Fred Kiekhaefer of Mercury Racing this morning, http://www.boats.com/boat-content/20...ll-production/.
I've known him for a lot of years and I've never seen him more excited about a new product. Not even close. |
Can't wait to hear what they sound like. I'm expecting them to be pretty quiet with the turbos on them actually.

Fancy way of saying the development was outsourced? (or some)????? ;) Cool motors tho for sure, nice to see new development going on in a down economy |

I wonder how much of the development they did in-house. Cool motors.

you're quick matt. edited my post a little more clearly just as you posted that.
Cool, to hear merc took it on themselves. They outsourced some of the verado that's why I asked. Surprised they didn't go back since the Verado worked out so well. Either way like I said very cool motors and thumbs up to Merc. |

If memory serves you're absolutely right about the Verados, and I know they learned a lot in the development of those outboards that they applied in the 1300/1350 project. Now if you ask me exactly what lessons they applied, I'd be at a loss.

Lesson one boost is good. Lesson two things fail with boost. Lesson three fix what breaks and your back to lesson 1 :drink:
