Default Arneson Drives, is it worth

Buying the boat just for the drives? How can you tell what condition they are in?

Yes, it's arenson drive. I heard it's good to use in the water.

There is a lot there for the money. It needs cosmetics and a motor rebuilt. It's worth $3500 as it sits. A running 454 is $1500 alone. Good buy overall but getting to the boarder line.

The boat is only a few miles from me if you need someone to look at it.

I could care less about the boat, I'm wondering about the drives. Are the drives alone worth it? How can you tell the condition of drives?

you can't. It's a crap shoot... And to make matters worse.. try getting parts.
