Will Anyone Ever Break Warby's Record?
#21
I belive it will be broken but probably no time soon. Most probably it will not be like Ken did it with gears, grease and guts (not really gears). At some point a very high tech computer controlled ground effect vehicle/vessel will be developed and it will all but drive itself to the record.

Not a question of if, it's a question of when. Having said that, there is a reason that record has stood for so long, and will be a while before anyone will break that record.

Warby's record breaking boat is in the Australian National Maratime Museum, Sydney Australia.
If your ever in Darling Harbour go into the museum and have a look. Its mind blowing when you see it in person to know it actually went that fast.
Warby will break his own record. He is a rough cut individual but he knows boats and whats required to get it done.
What worries me is so many other failed attempts have been undertaken with hull design left to nothing more than computer geeks and pen pushers.
This is water we are talking about and no computer, aerodynamic, hydrogliphic, super conductive, ultra mega model can give you a 100% hull design answer. It takes experience, guts and a efing good boat driver to do the job.
