Imco Shorty - Scarab / Excalibur 26 ?

I have a Wellcarft Excalibur 26, its a 26 Scarab hull below the rub rail for those that do not know the boat.

It time to change the drive and considering a imco short on the bottom end. I wanted to see if any one has try one on this hull and what the results were as it a very low x dimension.

It would be going on a 1.5 Bravo upper with a 600 HP Tyler Crocket powerplant.

what yr is the boat and does it have a notch or step in the hull? also whats X or propshaft height right now then guys can chime in. I had a 7'' propshaft height on my Baja 24 OL and went to a 2'' shortie and it helped all around. my SABER 28 HAD A X OF 14 1/2'' propshaft about 7 5/8'' Iwent to a konrad ace drive new X is 17 1/2'' propshaft is 3'' with a box plus the shorter ace xfactor drive from konrad. I hope to be testing soon on the Saber 28 and will post on the saber section. please get back on your heights. art

Boat is a 2002.

Is propshaft height just the distance from the hull to the shaft vertically ?

Nutz... my old drive is already off and peices.

My down draft is 38" if that helps at all. And it is not a stepped hull, doesnt really need it as it plains pretty quick.

A 3 blade prop on a standard length lower would do more for you on top end speed and also save the drive with added slip on re-entry.
