There is a cheap30' malstrom V hull on lakeland craigslist. also a manta 30' in chicago on c/l also. Repower with newer o/b's and be reliable.

Excalibur 27 if you are looking for an older boat.

I believe this Checkmate 30 Convincor may still be for sale. I'm sure the price has come down. Original ad was in 2007 when the boat was still new. He has had it to 90 mph with a pair of 300X Mercs.

Clamp ons are not any easier or cheaper than i/o's, once all the bugs are worked out of an i/o, it is better than outboards, working the bugs out of an outboard sucks alot more, buy new with warranty, or keep the i/o sorry....

I say get a Powerplay if u can , u will not regret it.

A 28 or even a 33 which is big but still easy to handle and with twin 300's around 75 ish , the 28 is maybe a little faster with 300's.

A 30 MANTA is good also !!!!!!

( i mean they are all good boats , but those 3 would be my choice )

I have a bit more experience with outboards than i/o's and we didn't have that many issues with ros 2.5's on a 28 skater, but I am not as interested in 2.5's for this boat.

Don't forget about the Concept 30. It was designed from the start for twin 300X outboards and every time I've been in one, I was impressed.

it sucks leaving an i/o at a mooring for more than a week, growth gets everywhere

30 velocity 2x300s should run 80mph plus. the fish boat ran 77 with a full top on it.
